Schools and groups
A litter pick is a great outing. It's outdoors, it's practical, and everyone can see the difference they made. Young people can feel proud of where they live.
Ayrshire Cleans is happy to help schools, ASN groups, youth groups and clubs anywhere in North, East or South Ayrshire.
What Ayrshire Cleans helps with
- Finding a spot. We can suggest places on the map that need a tidy.
- A note on the route. We can share what we know about a spot, like being near a busy road. Your staff still check it themselves.
- Council bag collection. We can help ask the council to collect the full bags.
- Showing your work. Log your clean-up after, and it can appear on the website as โCleared by [your group] with Ayrshire Cleansโ.
What the school or group provides
- Staff supervision for the whole outing, at the ratios your school uses.
- Transport to and from the spot.
- Your own paperwork. Permission, medical needs and your own risk assessment.
Your school's own paperwork comes first
The sheet below is simple guidance for a group litter pick. It is not your school's official risk assessment.
Please use your school's own forms, signed off by your head teacher or group leader, as you would for any outing.
Group pick guidelines (one page)
A plain, printable page to share with staff and helpers. It covers traffic, things not to touch, footwear, under-16s, telling someone where you are going, and washing hands.
After your clean-up
Take a Before photo and an After photo from the same spot. Please don't show children's faces. Then log it here. Cieran checks every one before it goes on the website.
Ask for a visit or a chat
Email what you have in mind, roughly where, and a few dates that might work. Cieran will reply.
